6-Week Caesarean Scar Self-Massage course

Learn Safe Self-Massage • Restore Sensation • Reconnect • Breathe

Gain confidence in working on your scar

After a C-section, the focus is often on getting stronger again – rebuilding your core, exercising and getting back to your usual activities.

But before strengthening, it can be important to reconnect with the area that has been through surgery.

One of the things I hear most often in my 1:1 work with mums with C-section scars is: “I’ve lost my core strength.”

Do you recognise this? No matter how much you exercise, your belly stays the same. You see results in other parts of your body – but not your belly.

What if I told you it’s not your fault?

You’re not doing anything wrong, and you’re not exercising too little. You may simply need to work with your scar and the tension around it first.

ABOUT THE COURSE

A C-section scar is not only a mark on the skin. Surgery affects different layers of tissue, sensation and movement around the lower abdomen. For some women, feelings of numbness, pulling, tightness or reduced sensation around the scar can stay for months or even years after the operation.

This is why I believe scar care is an important first step in postpartum recovery.

During this 6-week course, you will learn simple and gentle techniques to work with your scar and the surrounding tissues. We will focus on restoring sensation, reducing tension and helping you reconnect with your lower abdomen.

We will also work with breathing and the relationship between the scar, abdomen, pelvis and diaphragm. When there is tension or reduced sensation around the scar, it can sometimes be harder to feel and properly engage the deeper core muscles and the body may start to compensate by using other areas. Scar tissue can also affect the hips and glutes, often contributing to tension and tightness in these areas. We will work with these connections too, helping to release tension and bring more ease and movement back into the body.

Over six weeks, you will learn how to:

  • safely touch and massage your C-section scar

  • develop a simple self-massage routine you can continue at home

  • improve sensation around the scar and lower abdomen

  • work with feelings of tightness and pulling

  • release tension in the tissues around the scar

  • connect breathing with the abdomen and ribcage

  • become more aware of your deep core

  • understand how your scar can affect movement and tension in other areas

I'm happy to see you here.

I am a qualified Caesarean Scar Therapist and ScarWork practitioner, with over 10 years of experience as a bodyworker — Shiatsu therapist and deep tissue practitioner.

I've been working with women with C-section scars for over 2 years in Mullingar and Longford and what I hear again and again from them is that they don't feel confident and don’t know how to care for their scars.

I created this 6-week course to help you gain confidence, reconnect with your abdomen and simply feel good in your body.

I'll be there to guide you throughout.

Looking forward to connecting with you!
